2020-2021
2020-2021 Chairman Tony Flood had to call for two AGMs, to be held together by email, for 2020 and 2021 due to Covid 19 restrictions.
This required the endorsement of rule changes and entailed Tony sending out proposals in advance by email, with members giving their votes by reply.
Subscriptions for 2020 were cancelled because there were no meetings, and subscriptions for year beginning April 13th, 2021 were reduced to £20. Members playing £10 of this subscription prior to April 13th, 2021 were eligible to vote at the AGM.
Francis Wait became treasurer on March 26th, 2021, succeeding Laurie Wilkinson following the sad passing of Laurie's wife.
Tony Flood said in his Chairman's report at the AGM: "When I wrote my Editor's Welcome in the Anderida Newsletter at the beginning of 2000 I referred to variety being the spice of life and reflected that we were providing this with forthcoming events. Those events, at our new venue the Hydro Hotel, included having guest speakers in January, February and March, 2020 in Special Constable Chris Pring, author and former policeman John Newton; and actor Brian Capron.
"I never dreamed that they would be the last events Anderida would be able to hold for over a year due to the coronavirus."
During these troublesome times we were dealt additional blows with the sad deaths of our Vice President Alan Baker and Ollie Cater, the husband of our patron Tamara McKinley. We also lost our website administrator Rod Colley. All were wonderful characters who will be greatly missed Tony proposed a vote of thanks to Roger Hardman for his long and valued service to the club as treasurer.
